Hello peeps! What a week! First week of pink washing was similar to the last... lots and lots of cleaning! It was so great though! Sister Snow is amazing, Bardstown is amazing, the branch is amazing, the people are amazing, everything is just amazing! I'm so excited to work in this blessed area! We are working with some pretty amazing people. Our most progressing investigator right now is Angie and she is set for a baptism in 3 weeks! Hopefully everything goes smoothly! This last week Sister Snow and I decided that we are going to eat CLEAN! We have been basically just eating fruits, veggies, and chicken haha. Sister Snow is also a cosmetologist so maybe she can help me step up my hair game a bit. Love youinns, Sister Harris 1. Our cute apartment and car. It's name is Berry. 2. Carved my name into the desk before I left hehe 3. We make sure to keep a BOM, resto pamphlet, and our card in the free library every day. So far 6 have been taken! Hey everybody! First of all with fathers day being yesterday I just want to say how much I appreciate our fathers. I love my dad so much and he is one of my favorite people ever! I'm also so grateful for my Heavenly Father who loves all of us perfectly and unconditionally. He loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of the world so we can all live with him again! I'm so grateful to have such great earthly and heavenly parents! Well this transfer is coming to a close and tomorrow I will be transferred to Bardstown, Kentucky!! My new companion will be Sister Snow. I'm so excited for this upcoming transfer because I will be pink washing! Pink washing is when sister missionaries replace the elder missionaries in the area. This will be very exciting since neither Sister Snow or I know anything about the area. It's sad to leave my baby area but I'm so excited for this new adventure and to go where the Lord needs me to go! So there were a couple weird things that happened last week. On Monday after P Day Sister Moore and I went to an elderly living apartment complex to visit one of the members. First of all this is a really weird place because it used to be an old high school and it still has lockers and kid murals all over the building. The outside of the building still says it's a high school so it's really weird. We went inside and we had to go up an elevator to get to the members apartment and as we were going up the entire elevator shook and then just stopped. The doors wouldn't open and we started to slightly panick. We were stuck in an elevator! Basically we were just laughing a lot and breathing really fast haha. We tried opening up the doors but they wouldn't open so we just waited for a little bit. The doors opened a little later and we were able to get out and do some work. That was pretty interesting haha! On Tuesday we had 3 people sign up for dinner that night so we rescheduled one and had the other 2 that night. It was so terrible. We went and ate with the first family trying not to get too full. The next couple we went to go see had us meet them at a pizzeria and gave us a HUGE pizza! I had a couple slices but they kept teasing me to have more and more pizza. So I ate more and more pizza to make them happy but I was SO full! Then after pizza they gave me a HUGE bowl of sherbet to eat. I basically just wrecked my stomach and felt so sick the next couple of days but you gotta do whatcha gotta do. This week was also zone conference so we got to meet with our mission President and other missionaries and a great time was had by all! We also got a new investigator last week and she seems super awesome! She says she's been looking for a religion that would fit into her life and she thinks this would be good for her! She thought the message of the restoration was so cool and she was so excited to keep meeting with us! I love people like that! Last night I stayed up packing and listened to the nutcracker for an hour so that was cool. Anyways, that's about it for this week! I love y'all and hope everyone has a fantastic week! Peace & Blessings Sister Harris 1. Monkey figurine at a potentials house 2. Yes the monkey is holding a rock 3. The animal shelter! 4. Lawlz Hey yall! This has been a pretty crazy week! It started last Monday when we came home after proselyting time and we found a dead mouse in the middle of our kitchen. We named him Reggie and had a eulogy for him and taught him the plan of salvation before we threw him away. Reggie was a good kind mouse. He didn't eat too much of our food and never pooped where we walked. We look forward to seeing him in heaven one day. Something else crazy that happened this week was a bird pooped on my face. Yes. We were talking with a lady about the gospel in front of her house and then a bird flew by and pooped right on my face. I asked her if I could wash my face in her house and she didn't say anything so I asked her again and she just went inside her house. So now me and Sister Moore are walking down the street and I have bird crap on my face and we are just looking for anyone who would let me wash my face and finally we found someone we talked to a couple days earlier and he let me use his bathroom to wash my face. People keep telling me that that means good luck so I hope they're right! Some other fun things this week was that Sister Moore and I made some funny missionary memes and some music videos. Sister Moore is just the bomb. We have so much fun together. I'm gonna miss her so much! We get our transfer call this Saturday and we will see if I'm going to a new area. Crazy things are happening in the GKLM. There has been a decrease of missionaries coming in and a lot of missionaries going home so they will be closing 5 areas and having sisters pink wash an area this upcoming transfer. Crazy stuff! Sad news is that we had to drop Barbara as our investigator. She told us she would not pay tithing and so she can't be baptized. My heart broke when she told us that. She was so close to baptism. She still knows everything is true and knows that this is the true church and that this is the only way back to her heavenly father but tithing is too much of a challenge for her right now at this time in her life. Missionaries will still continuing ue to stop by every now and then but since she's not committed to progress we can't continue teaching her. I will miss Barbara! She was amazing! Maybe someday she will be baptized, but I am honored to be apart of her conversion story. The gospel is true and it changes lives. I love it with all my heart and I love sharing it with everyone I meet. The mission is way more difficult than I thought it would be but it's worth it. There is so much happiness to be found when you live and share the gospel! Gospel Love, Sister Harris 1. Family pic 2. Last district meeting 3. Memes for daysssss 4. Quotes! Hey everybody! It has been great here in madison! The transfer is almost over and I might be leaving to a different area and it makes me so sad! I love the ward here and the investigators are awesome and Sister Moore is so great. Nothing too crazy is happening here. Last week when we were driving to district meeting we were driving down the highway and a deer jumped out of no where into the road and it scared us so much but nothing happened and we just laughed about it. A little later I had to spit my gum out and I leaned out the window to spit it out and my glasses flew off my face and so we had to pull over and I ran down the highway to get my glasses. Haha surprisingly they didn't break and they were just a little scuffed up but nothing bad. And then a little but later we were driving and there was a HUGE snake in the road and we had to wait for it to cross the street. So ya it was a pretty crazy drive and we were just laughing about everything the entire way. Our investigator Barbara was going to be getting baptized this Saturday but she has been having problems with having to live the law of tithing after baptism and so we hope she will commit to it before then but it makes us so sad to see her struggle with this commandment. She wants to be baptized but it is hard for her to pay tithing because she feels commited to other charities. We prayed with her about if she needs to obey the law of tithing and she started crying and told us she wants to live with God again. I love Barbara so much and I hope she finds the faith to keep this commandment so she can be baptized and enter the covenant path towards her father in heaven. That's about it for this last week! Love youinns! Sister Harris 1. and 2. missionary memes 3. look at Dat sunset 4. lol 5. A quote on really liked this week :-) |
